I was the only woman by myself but then again sci-fi and heavy metal are generally no woman's land. You usually see women at sci-fi convetions on somebody's arm. There are very few of us who are willing to admit we are into the comic books etc. But then again, I don't fit any particular mold anyway so it's all good. :)
