L.A. Trip

I just bought a pass to the Hollywood Pitch Festival in August, so it looks like I'm going to be in Los Angeles for a few days. I've never been to an event like this before. I've been to the Austin Film Festival. It has a pitching competition - which is really fun to watch as a spectator. But this one is ALL pitching. I'm actually going to be doing

Holy Fuck, that sounds intense! That's a lot of people that can 'make things happen' in one place! Are you going to run your pitch by several people first, so you have it smooth as silk, before you go? It's like a giant sales conference! Btw, don't forget your Advil as I wouldn't be surprised at what deals get made at the bar, instead of at the actual convention! HEE.

I've already been working on my pitching. We had a class the weekend before last in Houston with Laurie Scheer, and we practiced pitching one-on-one with her. She's the one who told me about this festival. I have a friend named Greg Carter who is a judge at the pitch festival at Austin Film Fest every year. I'm going to ask him if he'll practice with me.
