Short Story - The Dinner Party

It's rare to find artfully composed contemporary short stories these days, short of published collections by Jhumpa Lahiri and the like. I was presently surprised to read something this good in the New Yorker. It's worth it:

Wow. I'd almost forgotten about that one -- read it shortly after they posted it. Deliberately forgotten, it was a little distressing at the time.
On re-read, I'll agree with you. It's wonderfully crafted.
