The summer this came out I was working for THX. Between the digital cinema production and the DVD authoring, mastering and release (in every language and subtitle combination you can imagine, and a few you can't) I must have watched this film close to 200 times. At least I was well paid...
oh yeah. trust me. i work(ed) in the dvd/subtitling world, and no matter how fun the movie or even somewhat enjoyable, after "working" with it and watching something a million times. you get over it. however, i am sure i wasn't as well paid as you. :)
Does anybody know why the empire didn't just kill all the 'jedis' by having men with ordinary machine guns shoot at them from two or three differnt angles at once? Or why they don't use nuclear weapons to attack closely packed concentrations of space ships?
Did you see Episode 3? There wasn't an empire yet in this movie, but instead a republic. Palpatine was manipulating everyone, and he needed the Jedi to stay alive for his plan. When he needed the Jedi to die, the things with the machine guns from multiple directions is essentially what he did. And they don't use nuclear weapons on spaceships because there's always a risk of opening a portal to THE PHANTOM ZONE when you blow a nuke in space.
