It was actually adapted from a play (of the same title, which I've so far been unsuccessful in finding), and shot in a series of continuous takes to create a 'real time' feeling. Some people pass over the film because of this 'gimmick' (hardly) but I think it's incredibly effective. I hope you get to see it :)
Glad to meet another fan ^_^ I think as well as being one of Hitch's best, it really shows off James Stewart's acting ability. I love that he was cast against type. All the acting is top-notch.
This seems to be one of his least appreciated films, and I can't for the life of me work out why! It really is nice to find other people who share a love for it.
