You can't do that with DVD's. I've been using the Terminal technique

I don't know if this will produce a different result, but you can download it and try saving in a different file format.

I also think that maybe cmd-shift-4 will work using VLC as your player... but it'll produce the same results as the terminal technique, probably.

these caps are gorgeous!
i watched there will be blood yesterday and was completely blown away by both daniel day lewis and paul dano's performances (you should cap that too!)

i might rent this today.

ballad of jack and rose is my favorite movie, so i was really excited about there will be blood when i found out they were acting together again. they have such an amazing chemisty on screen.
