Looking Back at the 2005-2006 TV Season...

May 26, 2006 04:12

With American Idol now over and done with, my TV season has essentially come to an end. Other than Everwood, which has its *sniff* series finale in two weeks, all the big shows either ended last week or are ending this week. And other than HBO's original programming, the summer schedule never gives me anything to get excited about (I don't get into ( Read more... )

Dude, thanks for reading! I figured few would!

I agree with you on "jump the shark" but seeing as I remember going to the website back in 1998 (during computer programming no less, ahh high school), it is a hard habit to break. And the fact that it has become ubiquitous in our culture is pretty cool. Still, I agree, it needs to be replaced.

I too love Mariska and Marcia...they both kick complete ass. Does it strike you as freaky that Mariska looks younger NOW than she did on ER back in '97 (when she was Dr. Greene's girlfriend of convienence with excess baggage), you go girl. DH could become the worst show ever, but as long as Marcia "Kimberly Shaw" Cross is on, she'll still be awesome. You don't steal Jo's baby and blow up the building without earning eternal kudos.

Thanks again for reading, I like your thoughts too!

Do you realize it took me two cups of tea to read this fucker? LOL Not the usual "Yay, it's Memorial Day Weekend, me and my BF are going to the Abbey tonight" type post that's for sure.

Aighty, about the shows I care about:
Idol: I think despite some heinous ear-sores/eye-sores (Hicks, Pickler, Covais, Mandisa-sleeveless (eyes), Mandisa-homophobic (ears), sometimes Covington, initially (for me) Bennett,) this year's Top 12 was the best we've ever seen. Of course, I reject reject reject the winner til I am blue in the face, but it is only a further argument to instill an "electoral college" type voting system for Idol. Trailer trash states only get four votes, those of us in the BIG BLUE STATES with class and taste, get 5,634,780. Haha! That will fix this annoying trend of worthless winners from Birmingham once and for all ( ... )
