Great write up! I TOTALLY forgot about Fargo - what an evocative theme! I didn't know it was based on a Norwegian folk tune, but that makes perfect sense.

I laughed when I listened to the overture for Capricorn One because, um, yeah, Stravinsky, a wee bit?

And ditto for Star Trek VI. Holst, much?

It's interesting that so many of the classical-based themes/soundtracks are referencing early twentieth century composers. That would make a fascinating thesis - dissecting that particular relationship! How many times here did you reference Holst, Prokofiev, Stravinksy - and you're totally right!
