I rented this right after it came out because I love anthology horror and I have to keep checking every one of them out no matter how often they end up being horrible in a not-fun way. This one was so much fun, and Sammy! Love.
My friend Kelly adores Sammy as if he were her own son. And she's got the BEST THEORY EVER: Sammy is the son of Jack the Pumpkin King and Sally the Rag Doll. IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. IT IS MY HEADCANON.
I loooved this movie, omg. I was skeptical at first because of the hype it got, but it's so so good. Like you said, it's not incredibly deep or anything, but the stories are interwoven so perfectly, and most of them really stay with you ages after you've watched it. ♥
I finally watched this and I loved it! The way the five vignettes were interwoven with one another was flawless. AND THE WEREWOLVES! That was by far my favorite story out of the five. When the girls were tearing away their human skin I distinctly remember saying "I'm not sure what's going on, but I like it!" God, that was such a brilliant take on the "virgin lost in the woods" trope. And the creature effects were fantastic! I also agree that Sammy was adorable! I definitely feel like this movie was made for us Halloween/Samhain loving folks. <3
