Wow, I totally forgot that Cuaron directed this!

I haven't seen it... I've actually never read it either. Odd, considering that The Secret Garden was one of my all time favorite novels as a child.

But... yeah, I probably should. I'm not surprised that Cuaron delivered a wonderful film in the least.

Ooh, I wasn't even aware of this version! I will have to check it out. As a child I adored the 1986 miniseries with Amelia Shankley and Maureen Lipman (made by PBS's WonderWorks - the same people who produced the well-known Meagan Follows/Colleen Dewhurst *Anne of Green Gables.*) However, that miniseries does seem pretty low-budget to me now. (Though it's still a zillion times superior to the ghastly Shirley Temple movie!)
