I am so ridiculously jealous of anyone who has ever taken a film class. I have not. And I desperately want to. I have wanted to for the past five years, ever since I started getting really serious about my interest in film. I've read some books on my own in an effort to compensate, but that's not the same. Being, y'know, old and FINALLY DONE WITH EDUCATION, it is much harder for me to take a class. Makes me a bit sad.
And if you write a noir with a character named MacGuffin, I would actually laugh out loud every time I read that name.
When I took that class I thought, "Yay, we get to watch movies and write reports on them!" For a high school elective, it was pretty darn sweet. I should've continued to delve a little deeper into film when I was in college, but it just didn't occur to me at the time.

(I kind of want to write a satiric noir thriller in which one of the character's names is, in fact, MacGuffin.)

Yes, thank goodness for screencaps and blogs. Thank goodness for this place - letting me pretend I actually know something about film.
