UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS

Jul 01, 2010 16:10

This movie season isn't quite as overwhelmingly awesome as past summers' have been, but there are still a couple movies I'm looking forward to. So how about a run-down of coming attractions that could have some promise, either as solidly good movies or just cheesy popcorn flicks.

So many movies I can't wait to see.

I am excited about Eat Pray Love because I read the book (and yea, I know everyone and their momma has probably read the book by now and everyone should stay from it..the book isn't perfect, but to actually go out and be able to do what she had the chance to...I'd give anything for it).

Inception and The Adjustment Bureau are going to be so GOOD!

Parts of The Adjustment Bureau were filmed around where I work, so now you will be able to see the park that I walk through every day and possibly my favorite burger place (which is in the park).

You know, The Adjustment Bureau is totally ripping off Fringe's Observers, but since I'd love to see a movie about the Observers, I totally don't mind. Other than that, Scott Pilgrim and Inception look awesome, in their two very different ways.

It's based on a Philip K. Dick story. So, apparently, Fringe is ripping him off.

Also, Centurion was pretty fucking cool, you're all gonna enjoy that.

Heh, no kidding? Well, then I guess it's just a cool idea all around.

Centurion looks pretty well done, though I hope there's a little moral questioning among the Romans over the fact that they are the invaders and their enemies are simply protecting their homeland.

Haha. Yeah, Centurion doesn't really give lip service to the "noble enemies protecting their homeland." The Picts clearly seem to be in the minority and on the verge of being snuffed, but they are shown as bloodthirsty, near-supernatural predators. Then again, the movie is essentially a viking version of "The Warriors." Done quite well, and with about a billion beheadings, for the record.

I'm excited about The Adjustment Bureau and Inception. Both of them are going to be SRSLY AWESOME, particularly Inception.

I'm kinda meh about Eat Pray Love and Charlie St. Cloud, while Resident Evil: Afterlife looks like it's going to be some butt-kicking fun.

Lot of interesting movies coming our way in the weeks ahead (can't wait to see the trailer for Due Date... for a fairly obvious reason... ;))

Inception and Adjustment Bureau are two I'm definitely excited for. And Charlie St. Cloud doesn't look too bad. And I want to see Centurion for the sole purposes of a) I love big gory battle scenes and b) it has Mickey from Doctor Who in it. Hah.

And I might see Nowhere Boy because it looks interesting. Yay John Lennon (:
