I have to agree with everything you said about Lina and Kathy. I noticed it even more this most recent time I watched it, that Lina at least knows what she wants and how to get it. When she has her last rant at R.F. before they reveal the truth in front of the crowd, you have to at least see where she's coming from -- she's sick and tired of other people telling her what to do and speaking for her and not letting her make her own decisions in her career. Of course, she's going about it in an underhanded way, manipulating people, blackmailing, and trying to ruin her rival's career in the process, but at least she's standing up for herself and doing something.

While I'll always be a Gene girl, I have to admit that Donald's gorgeous blue eyes always rivet me when he's on screen. I love his expresssions and adorable smile and the way he threw himself around in "Make 'Em Laugh" always impresses me.

*flails* Yay! This film is definitely in my Top Ten! Ohhhh, Gene and his tight pants!

It's such a great, funny, gorgeous film. I just love the music, and the colors, the iconic scenes, and OF COURSE, the dancing!

And I can't find which Photobucket account I uploaded my SitR gifs to, so here's Gene in another great musical. Oh, Gene!

"Take a bow, Gene! You fine, foxy man, you."
HELL YESSSSSSS

Also? "She's lucky in his arms..." <<< WE should be so lucky. Seriosuly, he looks so fine in that movie but THAT OUTFIT, awww, I love it.

So yes. I couldn't agree more with what you've written. I love it so much and wish I knew more people who did instead of getting scoffs whenever I tell someone about it. =) They're the ones missing out on some FINE GK though... =P

lol re: Gene Kelly in tight pants. It's probably because his thigh muscles are huge from dancing, so no pants ever fit.

There's a behind-the-scenes story re: Singin' In the Rain. Gene Kelly was, among other things, a perfectionist. He was not exactly the nicest to person to work with, especially during choreography numbers. He reduced Debbie Reynolds to tears on a number of occasions as she struggled to keep up. One of these times were she was crying, she was basically hiding under a piano. She saw shoes come up to her and ask if she was okay. The shoes (and the feet) belonged to Fred Astaire. Astaire comforted her, consoled her, and got her composed enough to go back to work with Gene Kelly!
