Looking for event suggestions.

I posted this to FA. If funds allow I would like to check out an event I have not been to and has some draw to it. Most events have a dealers room, artists and writers speaking, cosplays/masquerades, dance competitions, parades, ect. I am looking for something that has a particular draw to it. Whether it be the guests, specific events happening at

Big like SDCC, but the party goes all night long. The only trouble is getting a hotel. The con hotels sell out stupid fast, so it's a scramble to get nearby hotels. I recommend the Twelve, it' has a kitchenette with full fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher and toaster, so pretty much all your meals can be covered... and it's only a 5 minute walk from the nearest con hotel.

Dragon con has a bunch of costume contests, panels for pretty much every fandom form trekkies to browncoats to furries to otakus and everything inbetween, a parade, a huge dealers den, and art show.

Rocket City Furmeet. Smaller con, but very friendly folks, and well run.
