[MOVIE] The Village

(Well, when I started this journal, I did figure it'd be somewhat erratic. ^^)

The Village, written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. First viewing.

This turned out to be something completely different than I'd imagined )

Saw your post journal surfing and felt compelled to comply.

I, too, saw The Village for the first time recently (and even posted about it in my own LJ!), and was VERY pleased with it. I'd never seen or heard of the plot twist that he used, which made it for a brand new movie viewing experience.

If there is one thing M Shyamalan knows how to to do - it's mood. Damn, the man can wrap you up so fast. It's awesome.

Hello, random person. ^_^ Nice to meet you.

I think I may have to check out his other work, if it's half as effective as this was. (Except I don't think I want to bother with Sixth Sense, unless it's truly exceptional even with knowing the twist in advance. I'm usually rabidly anti-spoiler in everything.)

I think the atmosphere was the real star in this movie. *pleased* And it did a fabulous job.
