No matter how much I like to envision a better, more sensitive Draco, this rings so true. I think you've captured the whole picture of what might happen next, and it's so well written. I love Draco's senseless babbling, his bravado, and how it contrasts to Snape's near-silence. Really nicely done.

I still want to spank Draco for acting so foolish here, but it's brilliant because this is exactly how he'd probably act. Petulant boy. Your Snape is... mmm I need to stop thinking up scenarios where I'm wrapping him in a big hug because he would just be absolutely appalled.
