Unless things have changed, the SC case regarding DOMA dealt only with section 3, which said the federal government couldn't recognize same sex marriages.
I've read the opinion and it's not clear if they actually struck down section 2 as well as section 3.
I'd love it if they threw out all of DOMA, but I'm not gonna believ they did it until somebody with legal experience says that's what they did.
Section needs to go as well, so it won't make it harder to go after states that won't recognize out of state same-sex marriages.
AFAICT, section 2 remains, but the language of the majority decision strongly indicates that a full faith and credit challenge to section 2 would succeed handily.
