Farewell, Nick Pollotta

Incredible sadness -- we have lost a member of the fannish Family. Writer Nick Pollotta has succumbed to the cancer he's been fighting for some time now. Condolences and hugs and gentle songs and strength to his lovely wife Melissa

oh noes! I never even realized he was sick. I STILL love his Dragon's Den and Myth Adventure books!!

and of course I have no idea where they are after 7 moves. Maybe I can restock after a Comic Con

Robert Asprin wrote the Myth books. If you meant Dragon's Luck, Wild and Deal, those were also Asprin. Nick wrote the Bureau 13 books as well as an awful lot of other stuff.

Ohhhh, that's horrible news. I remember he was supposed to come to a convention I was attending last year. I wanted him to sign my copy of his book, Illegal Aliens. But he had to cancel it for some reason. I said not to worry, I'll catch him next time. I really enjoyed that book and wish he had a chance to sign it. My thoughts are with his family now. Let's remember our friends now and realize that "next time" may not happen.

ETA I had his book near my convention gear in my book shelf so I wouldn't forget it. Now I don't want to put it back into storage.
