We haven't spoken about a number of movies and TV shows I've seen, because I saw most of them several weeks after their respective debuts, and I had other stuff to mention.

• Argo was excellent, very exciting, and Ben Affleck was cheated out of a Best Director nomination... although my favorite performance in the whole thing is that of John Goodman,

Love love love love LOVE Face Off. We stumbled onto watching it last year and now we can't get enough. Some of those costumes and makeup just come together and make your jaw drop. The challenges actually make sense (my favorite last year was the 'design a superhero team around a car') and the advice/critiques/compliments don't seem as forced as most 'reality' competitions. And yes, the camaraderie and team mentality on that show is so refreshing!

ETA: And my fandoms all seem to be revolving around Sherlock Holmes recently...new Russell/Holmes books, I'm kinda in love with Elementary, and I FINALLY have time to watch BBC Sherlock, yay!

The Avengers series was pretty good. Too bad it was just 2 seasons, but they do much in those seasons though. It kept things very interesting. I may have to watch U SM now. I've been getting most of my TV from *ahem* alternate sources and watching them on the computer. The TV has mostly been for Law & Order, Cooking Channel, and Top Gear. Sometimes I wonder why I still have cable

I know, and I'm sorry. Bluntly, last year -- basically the entire frickin' year -- nothing was jelling, nothing worked, and Real Life kept throwing Bludgers at me. Exactly the situation I'd feared. I am finally back in the groove, however; I should have at least two concerts posted by this weekend (as well as a very-long-overdue update to the main page of TSO), and I will have at least one new album out very soon, not to mention some game music I'm finally getting a handle on. Stuff is coming, and you have no idea how much I appreciate your patience. (I may end up just winding down the whole subscription thing after awhile; if I do, it doesn't matter to you -- you and every other subscriber under that circumstance will get everything I release ever again.)
