Have you seen VGHS: Video Game High School?
Netflix has the whole series as a single movie:

And for those without Netflix, youtube has all nine episodes:

The way things are going, I'm hoping history will refer to this time as "The Fandom Decade!"

Heh, I'm sure there were more, but I caught cameos of Doug Walker (aka The Nostalgia Critic/That Guy With The Glasses) and Brent Black (aka Brentalfloss).

The third new reporter is James Rolfe, aka The Angry Video Game Nerd.

The fact that they got Jaleel White to reprise his role as the voice of Sonic is pretty cool, but the dialogue (and acting) aren't great. But, it's a fan film, and for what it is, it's decent. CG is a little flat, but again, better than expected.

Who cares that the quality isn't top notch? As long as they had fun making it and we have fun watching, that's all that matters.

Also, the male announcer on the big screens was played by Stuttering Craig from ScrewAttack and the robots were voiced by Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson and Chris "Kirbopher" Niosi.

I did think it was cool that Jaleel White agreed to reprise his role as Sonic. As a fan film goes, I thought it was pretty good. This was done by the same guy/studio that did the Mega Man fan film that covered the first game so I was already looking forward to it and I, personally, wasn't disappointed by it.

Nice. :) I especially liked all the Sonic Sat AM and Archie Comics bits they worked in. My one complaint, really, is that I wish they'd picked a portrayal for Robotnik to follow, rather than kind of mashing them together. DJ Hazard is a bit too loud for Jim Cummings' Robotnik, and not nearly enough of a Large Ham for Mike Pollock's Eggman. Minor, minor quibble, though, because it really was fun.

... Wonder if Doug Walker didn't get any lines because his voice is so distinctive? :)

I couldn't watch it. Not because of the content but because of YouTube. It had to pause every few seconds to load more of the video. I gave up after five minutes and only seeing 30 seconds of the movie.
