Missing FKO, and Miscellania

• This weekend, a bunch of our friends are rocking out Mississauga, ONT at FilkOntario. Later today, we'll know the inductees for this year's Filk Hall Of Fame, and along the way there will be amazing music. I haven't been there in a couple of years, and I miss it. I'm hoping to get back next year. Meantime, hugs to everybody,

Yay for resurrected computers! Also movies and hanging out with friends and family.
A touch more on the vocals would be nice. It bothered me more at low volume than when I turned it up a bit.

I'm gonna play with that today and tomorrow. Bluntly, if I can suss this out, I think I might have an overall improvement in my mixing....

And The Hunger Games was pretty darn good. All I knew about it was from the trailer and some disjointed conversation with a few people, and honestly the descriptions I've heard of the books kinda put me off (based on the writing style), but I thought the movie was very well done.

I agree, the movie was better than I expected it to be. I read the first book last time I was unemployed (I am again now, but I already read books 2 and 3) in 2010, and I thought it was decent. It certainly helped make sense of some of the parts of the movie that otherwise might have been more flat.

Yay on the mixing! It's always good when we can figure out new stuff, "Eureka!" and all that. :)

Wishing I could hit more conventions, but life is life.

Crys is planning to lock herself in her studio this weekend and come hell or high water, get as much of How To Be A Superhero done.

My plan is to deposit monies into bank to get us a little further along than we have been, pay a few bills (sheesh) and then see where we are. Hoping to send her to Penguicon with some fundage.

Cleaning, doing laundry today..and all to a background (for a starting bit) of Animal House.

Oh! And we showed you some love a few weeks ago on "Chris and Crys Take Over the World". Podcast 12 was mostly about music...podcast 13 (which aired on Friday the 13th) ended up being me talking about performing. We'd had requests from listeners to know a little bit more about me. And yesterday's 'cast was about Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

All in all..keeping busy and trying to NOT worry as much about bills.

Hoping to see you some time this year at a convention. things feel close to a tipping point. :-)

I'm just hoping Penguicon goes great for all I know. I know that both Mikey and Crystal will be there (though, Mikey is only there Friday night). And part of me is saying I'll be there next year, come hell or high water. Another part is going "Yeah, you said that for two years..and practicality has won out twice". ;-)

Ogre broke 250K, in the past hour or two.

As for the weekend. Relaxing. I have to rip a few CDs into the computer (including the last several FuMP CDs that Devo Spice sold me at I-CON. (Since 6Pi-con last year.))

I also have to get started on putting together the Concertino 2012 member CD.

Relaxing is good. I'm hoping to get to that Tuesday -- the next two days will be a touch buys, although part of that will be seeing my sister's family for dinner this evening.

And, yeah! We're steamrolling toward $300K, and the survey is up for what exactly the next stretch goal should be....
