Pardon me? Birth control causes prostate cancer? If it wasn't so pathetically stupid, it would be funny. Sometimes I think there should be a brain test for politicians. to see if they have one.
Somebody wrote a Salon piece as a response to one Republican senator, though not any of these geniuses. It's apparently an editor's pick from the front page.
(Already replied to your DW, but too good not to share here too.)
It sounded like she was talking about prostate cancer in men who sleep with women who take the Pill?
Which I ... suppose is not impossible, but ...
*googles* OH WAIT. No, it's better than that. Check this out: the study shows higher numbers of men with prostate cancer IN COUNTRIES WHERE HIGHER NUMBERS OF WOMEN ARE ON THE PILL.
Apparently women on the pill excrete more estrogen, which may be raising estrogen levels in the general environment, which miiiight cause higher instances of prostate cancer?
The other link I found is even better, as it points out that estrogen levels in the general environment are affected by many more things, including pesticides.
Well I think it's obvious that what's really happening is that GOD is smiting these men with prostate cancer for not exercising their dominion over women to stop these brazen hussies from taking the nasty horrible birth control. *Obviously*
