memory bomb

some time back in the 70's, my mother and I were watching the Academy Awards and someone's dress inspired my mother to say: "She looks like the cocktail hostess on the live bait barge."

this came back to me while looking at the Ice Dancing costumes...

.

yelling at the olympics, family speak

My mother once declared that a much younger (but no less ruthless and evil) John Madden "looks like an unmade bed!" It could not be argued...

These Ice Dancing costumes are simply appalling.

I quite like some of them, but I can't deny, the word "trashy" still copmes to mind.

Perhaps it's my age? Then again, I lived through the 60's....

To me it's not a matter of how much skin is showing, it's a matter of does it make the dance more beautiful, and if it distracts you from the dance, then the answer is no.

It's not skimpy/skin that bothers me either - it's questionable taste

I think the skaters are quite brave to use their sport to bring the world fabric shortage to the public's attention.

Oh, what a frightening typo I see.

The Love Bait Barge is now accepting applications for trollops.

I didn't get to see it so how bad where they on a scale of 1 through to what the Italians were wearing in the compulsary dance.

to tell the truth, we gave up right after I wrote this and spent jim's free day together watching anime. I can barely ever remember switching during a winter games unless it was hockey night. They were just so... blah.

I remember when there use to be some real routine to the dancers -- hell, I remember Torville and Dean...

LOL

The one dance I saw, the costume was so distracting that I kept forgetting to watch the dance - I kept looking to see what held it up and was it going to fall off.

Wouldn't I look splendid if I had a giant daisy for a left breast? Oh, I KNOW-- I;ll dress as a powder puff! Honestly, I thought one of them was wearing Bjork's Swan dress
