Progress, the Novel Kind

I have a nice load on my plate right now, wrapping up some edits on UnHero, my first serious novel. (As serious as my novels get anyway.) I look forward to hooking up with J.R later so she can tell me how much it sucks and I can tell her how right she is.

No, it's not weird. Unless he's a Lovecraft fan, it doesn't come up in most traditional fiction.

Well, I think it's a little weird, as I expect Creative Writing Professors to have a broad vocabulary, but maybe your Creative Writing Professor has other redeeming qualities. I should introduce you to my creative writing professors. They are very nice people, both of whom opened my eyes to areas I wouldn't have looked into on my own, which really, I think, is what education is all about.

That and the credentialing.

Also, for the record, I don't think your novel sucks.

I think it's weird and I've never read Lovecraft. Were it not for you and Brian's gigantically swollen dork gland, I'd never know what Cthulu was. I'm not really sure I know right now, but at least I'd recognize the dark destroyer if I saw him eating his way down the street.
