Our area is still under evacuation, but our neighbors called, saying they had no problem going in and out. So, we gave the police our story and they let us in.

Now, the big conundrum: do i drink myself st00pid or do i skip straight ahead to falling asleep?

the only street in and out of our subdivision is blocked by a police checkpoint, so we haven't been able to venture north yet and have a look. the avocado grove across the highway is burnt. i'd guess the fire got within a mile, maybe a tad closer.

Where are the two crazy fires now? Last I checked they weren't really contained yet. Hopefully they just stay away from your development.

Eh, have a few drinks and then fall asleep ;)

The poomacha fire is still about 10 miles east of us. The wind is now blowing from the west, so hopefully it's not an issue.

Oh, and yes ma'am. I'm now working diligently on drink #1.

Hopefully Poomacha doesn't move closer. Once I got friendly with a map, I could place all the areas where the fires are burning. You're still in my thoughts and prayers. Positive vibes all around!

Good boy working on drink #1! Whatcha drinkin? :)

Drink #1 was finishing off a bottle of blush from last weekend.

Drink #2 was a shot of Captain Morgan's "tattoo"

Drinks #3 and up will be more of the Captain.

Please have a drink with me. What are you drinking?

Oh, and can you recommend the Roland SH-201? I used to have an SH-101 and loved it to death. I expect the 201 is much different ... though it seems to retain the spirit of the original ... or at least that's what the demos would have me believe.

thank you. you have no idea how good it feels to be back in a home we had just gotten used to thinking of as our "previous home" ... what with the impending move to Austin and all.

as for the conundrum, i don't think anything will keep me from sleeping tonight.

I miss you too.. I was kind of hoping you'd be forced to just head back here ;) Maybe I'll just come to Austin.

CNN News: "In a tragic event, home owner Michael A. Smith was allowed back into his house in the Pala Mesa Village were he drunk himself st00pid and fell asleep on his couch. In the meantime the Poomacha fire closed in roasted Mr. Smith's tootsies to blackened charr. He has now 3 tootsies left. We feel for him."
