X-Men First Class: "On Regrets"

If he had to go back, he would make all of the same choices. But he still feels haunted by the ghost of a friend lost, unable to reach closure, trapped.

Post-movie. Implicit Erik->Charles. Warnings for spoilers of things that everyone knew before the movie came out. Contains angst, repression, and bitterness.

( Even though he knew that it was long over, part of him still felt like it was there, then, trapped in that moment before killing Shaw... )

That was completely and utterly lovely. You out-Eriked me, but that was a foregone conclusion. It was one of those stories where I lose focus on everything but the words and the scene that's playing out, incredibly enthralling. Thank you for posting it. ♥

Nice, very nice. I love that you're including Raven here, letting her participate in Erik's regret and guilt in a way uniquely her own. I'm really hoping to see more stories that include her in a bigger way, she just seems such a vital part of this whole dynamic.

I love Raven, and if Charles wasn't so very the type of character who draws me in, I would probably be all about her. I have at least two more fic ideas with her in a central role, so I hope to carry through on that.

I think she's my second favorite too (I too cannot resist Charles he's just so....wow). Indeed I just finished putting together a fanmix for her, "She's Leaving Home", today. I will very much look forward to your next fics with her!

Ouch. I kept expecting Xavier to show up, but alas. Very realistic scene of Erik's regrets; it's almost sweet that Raven tried to comfort him. I'm sure she's feeling a lot of regret as well.

Not this time, sadly. I definitely have a post-movie Erik and Charles staring match planned (among my many other fics planned) but I'm really glad you liked it anyway. ♥ I am incredibly tempted by these three and exploring their issues, so I hope I can do more in the future that you will also enjoy!
