Warnings: Not your usual hero. Saladfic. Kafka hates this story. Featuring cameos from a Princess of Heart and a dead Nobody. Namelessness.

Hearts rained from the sky and the Dusks dance and collect the hearts and then they have won, they are human again, and they rejoice! Only... Not really.

( This can't happen. Not now. I have everything I've ever wanted. )

Otherwise: Your writing always leaves me a little breathless. ♥ It's this distinct "Hey, I've just read kayfic" feeling. And your writing for Nobodies is, as always, inspiring. It just makes me want to write more for them myself. D:

Beautiful, as always. And all of the little details -- Aurora and her fairy godmothers, Vexen and Lexaeus, the Dusk with his pouch -- are wonderful.

Roxas stares at the fic!Axel a little and then settles down beside him on the riverbank. He shouldn't have to wait alone, apparently.

The Gambler was Daryl. ♥ Setzer's late girlfriend from FF6. I had a lot of fun with the details, I very much wanted this to be a fic about those who normally don't get a lot of attention -- the assorted Princesses, the unloved characters, the various servant ranks -- so the little details were what made it for me.

By the way... is the Heartless anyone in particular? I'm not sure who "Xaldyr" is, but I'm guessing someone in a series I don't know... still, I'm curious.

I'm very glad you enjoyed! I love the Dusks, they're so weird and creepy and possessing of identity and speech. D:

The Gambler is a take-off of Daryl, Setzer's deceased girlfriend from Final Fantasy 6. If you're not familiar, she was an airship pilot who constantly challenged him to races to see who was the fastest, and finally took off one day, insisting that she was going to fly higher than anyone, to the stars... and then she never came back, although he found the wreck of her airship a year later.

So glad you thought so~ I always wondered about the servants, because Dusks clearly talk and Yen Sid says that they're all intelligent and have identities, not like the Heartless. D: And if Dusks are intelligent, then the servants totally are, so...! We're killing people! And Sora didn't notice!

And you know one of those Dusks at the end deserved a heart, because that was kind of the most pitiful thing ever.
