He'd only just been a few pages in on his news paper when the pointless High School Musical of drama started with the youngers of the group, and though he'd lightened up some since his one-sided shouting match at the short ones, the stress of having gotten so worked up weighs on him a bit.
"Done and done." Couch. You belong to Mick Rory. He has a flag and isn't afraid to use it. "Thanks for the break, Digger. This is..." Sigh, deflate. "--much better."
Piper steps in and immediately settles himself in a corner. His rats squeak happily when they see Hermie and Hettie and the long-lost ratties re-acquaint themselves and catch up on old times. He himself pulls out his flute and starts playing a quiet tune.
"Geez... a guy goes to get the last item on the list and all hell breaks loose, so to speak," he sighs.
"Yeahhhhh, I kind of suspected it was going to happen like that though." He said as he went into the kitchen and got plates. "Was hoping I could stop it before it could happen. But, I don't think it connected to Axel what I was trying to warn him of, until after the fact. If at all."
He actually had more than one pie, so there was plenty to go around. "Sorry you got caught up in it Mick, Piper."
"Figured that JJ would though." He admitted to that part.
As he brought the food in, he picked up the remote, and handed it to Mick. Let the poor man have 'control', especially after dealing with the afterschool special from hell!
"James has father issues. I'm not sure when or why he decided to adopt Axel but he's got himself worked into a real froth about it. His own father ... wasn't the best, and I think James is having a knee-jerk in the other direction. But as it all blew up after I left to get the last item and a sandwich, I really don't know what to say."
No...no TV--not now. Mick tosses it Piper's way. He's going to sit here and just let the stress pour over and out until there's no more left.
"James took the kid in. He's biased six ways over. He's going to over look a lot of stuff Axel does. I don't think he's wrong in taking the kid in, but coddling him isn't going to help anyone. It's exacerbating."
Uhnnn...dramu. "--and you said something about pie?" yes, pie had no drama. It was delicious and moist and perfect.
