Sure thing, Yoruichi-san. Orihime's got a theory that it's somehow linked to the earlier instabilities in the garganta, but I guess it's a little early to say. It's something to keep in mind, though.

Here's the thing: I was on a field mission in Northern Honshuu [exact coordinates go here], and the area had these periodic spiritual "fogs", I guess is the best term. I didn't actually see any mist, but something muffled my spirit senses like walking in a pea-souper fog. Sometimes they got so bad even the butterflies could hardly get through
