Yep, he's a sun conure! Definitely smart...and DEFINITELY loud. :)
He used to be really REALLY mean - the only person that could handle him was my dad. He LOVES my dad but would flat out attack everyone else. Recently, however, his cage mate (our 13 year old parakeet Bink) died of old age, so he's been pretty lonely. The third day after Bink had died, Phoenix decided he wasn't so keen on being lonely, and now he loves up on anyone that looks in his direction. Every time I go over to visit, he sits on my shoulder all snuggled up in my hair and we eat peanuts together.
