The character voices seem a little off to me (but this is them in the future, and voice is a rather subjective thing). I do like how their relative maturity makes them a good match, and that they're deepening their relationship by being very frank -- a relationship built on honesty rather than omission is a stronger one. Nice bittersweet tone here.

I love it <3 Your portrayal is just like the way I view their relationship. And nice Akari's voice here.

This is a fine way for Akari/Akira to happen, if a touch bittersweet, but I'm happy for Akari. And the way Akira approaches things is very nice.

I liked how this was paced: your ‘more or less’ after the pairing at the top meant that the series of ‘(still her name at this point)’ asides drew the story forward into the present.

Though I wouldn’t have imagined a future Akari who was still in love with Hikaru, or a future Akira who was willing to make such a compromise, you’ve made them plausible here.

The fic also gives me the feeling, though you never say so, that Hikaru has ended up a solitary go-obsessed figure unconcerned with distractions like romance.
