Operation Go The Heck To Sleep, week 1 results

Feb 15, 2013 17:31

As I stated in my last entry, I'm trying to start going to bed at 11:50 or so on weeknights so as to get a full seven hours of sleep. This was my first week attempting it. The actual times I went to bed were as follows ( Read more... )

If I learned anything doing the eat-less-and-exercise, uh, exercise, it's that it takes a while before things set in and become habits, and even then it still takes some effort sometimes. There's just no easy fix to be had. But it's great that you're taking the steps! It probably won't solve everything all at one, but you conquer a mountain one minute at a time, and just defeating your own inertia and doing it is a cause worth celebrating. I know intimately how frustrating that inertia can be.

Keep it up! *hugs*

Yeah, that inertia has definitely been my main problem. It's almost crazy how, even when I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I could/should be doing things that would be better for me and likely make me feel better, it's still so difficult to actually get off my butt and do them.

Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it! *hugs*

Not bad, not bad! I think my sleep schedule this week looked fairly similar, except I went to bed super early last night ("super early" = 11:15 p.m.). Nothing can stop me from staying up till 2 a.m. tonight! What times do you wake up in the morning and start work? If I'm not mistaken, you live really close to where you work, right? Luckyyy. Good luck next week!

My alarm goes off at 6:50, but I typically don't actually make it out of bed until around 7:10. I'm supposed to be at work by 8:00, although we have about a six-minute grace period that I usually take full advantage of. :p I do live only about seven minutes away from work, thank goodness. Although that was a very deliberate choice I made when I was looking for apartments. I knew that I didn't want to be spending half my life commuting to and from work, especially since I find it so hard to get up and get going in the morning!

Thanks for the good luck wishes!

I hope you feel better :( For what it's worth, I was up until 2 AM doing absolutely nothing and I had to get up at 5:30 this morning. Because memes about cat-faces seemed more important than, you know, sleeping :/

I hope everything is okay *hugs*

I have TOTALLY done that before, many times! I think that's actually one of the most mindboggling things about my difficulty making myself go to bed--I'm not even doing anything important in the wee hours of the morning! I'm just mindlessly surfing the internet or watching a movie on my laptop.

Thanks, Ann *hugs* Just taking it one day at a time. :)
