Oh, fantastic! Well done you for doing all that with the pain you must have had, too :)
Don't even think about where you came out of everybody else! It shouldn't really be called a race, because it's about so much more, and not in the slightest bit about who crosses the finish line first! *Hug*
I wonder how much the men were sponsored to do the whole cheerleading thing.... :)
I wonder how much the men were sponsored to do the whole cheerleading thing.... :) Do you know I hadn't thought of that. But as they were sponsored by Nivea I don't know that they were "sponsored" as such...
I wasn't in too much pain going round thankfully but last night once I'd showered and relaxed for a bit, there was serious stiffness and achiness. I felt ok first thing today but after sitting in my chair for a couple of hours this morning there were a few aches back. Mostly of the "I've discovered new muscles I didn't know I had" type! Reassuringly the knees and ankle are doing ok.
How are your knees and ankles today? They say that walking is the best and safest exercise anyway, so you probably came off a lot better than all of those who charged around!
And yay for discovering new muscles! I miss that since bellydancing introduced me to them all!
Apart from some pretty bad soreness later on the day itself, I seem to have come off lightly. I had a bit of extra stiffness the next day but nothing major. As you say - going at my own pace probably did me a huge favour. I do feel like I need to do more walking though. I don't think I want to do 5K over the downs every weekend but some extra road walking would probably be good.
I miss that since bellydancing introduced me to them all! LOL - I remember the first time my abs got a bellydance workout - they didn't stop protesting for about a week! I know what you mean though. I'm so unfit at the moment that any exercise reminds me that there are lax muscles all over. I really need to get back to a class - but I just haven't managed it yet. Maybe once the summer is over I'll be able to find a new one. Most classes start again in Sept as a lot of them are hosted at places that follow school-type terms.
