[Marco appears to have nodded off on his communicator despite efforts to stay awake. It doesn't take long for him to completely jerk out of it, and seemingly out of nowhere kick a table into the wall, smashing it into firewood, and coursing blue flames down an arm.]

I'll get to it when I can! [Growling at no one, good for your insanity. But ( Read more... )

[Looks like someone was having an unpleasant dream. But he'll go ahead and gloss over that. And what the hell is that thing, a tent? Anyway.]

That's a pretty personal question. Are you really just curious?

"Dees"...? Like the letter?

I see. Sounds impressive, though I have no idea what the "Grand Line" is.

Right. It's a family name. Luffy and Ace are both Ds. Portgas D. Ace, Monkey D. Luffy.

The Grand Line is an ocean in my world. It's pretty treacherous, nearly impossible to navigate, millions of pirates die just trying to get through it.

...Huh. [Sounds a bit familiar... but maybe he's just imagining things.] What's it stand for?

I didn't realize oceans were so dangerous.

It's not what it stands for, it's what they do with it. "Will of the D," it's supposed to mean something drastic for the future. Someone with a strong willpower like that that can change the shape of the world.

Well, some more oceans are more dangerous than others. The Grand Line has hazards the other four oceans of my world don't, I'm told.

...Hah. [He seems mildly amused by something, but doesn't say what.]

My world's got none, so I wouldn't know much about traversing them.

[When Marco finds out his middle initial, oh he will pester him.]

No ocean at all? Seriously??

[ufufufu.]

Seriously. It's all desert. A deathtrap.

Huh. I mean there's a few desert islands, but it's still surrounded by ocean. How do you guys get enough rain?

We don't. If not for the Plants, I'm sure we'd have all dried up long ago.

[Of course thinks plants = green leafy things.]

What like cacti and things? But even they need rain don't they?

Oi, not those kind of plants. Plants, like- uh. [Actually, how the hell do you describe a plant.] ...In any case, some of 'em were left intact after the Fall when people first crash landed on the planet. They can produce virtually anything needed for survival.

fierybluebird January 22 2011, 01:54:20 UTC
So they can produce water?

Yeah.

Well, that's handy. But who runs/controls/operates them? Wouldn't that create a terrible amount of fighting for resources?

Exactly. It's far from paradise, on Gunsmoke.
