HARRY POTTER SIGNS UP FOR REGISTRY!
The Saviour of the Wizarding World makes his first appearance - and registers with the Ministry.
The Ministry officials, as well as the crowd at large, were taken aback last evening when none other than Harry Potter made his first public appearance since that fateful day when he saved us all from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Barely recognizable as himself, looking badly beaten and not fully healed (which this reporter has serious doubts as to his medical care if he was allowed to leave the hospital in the state he was in), our Champion made this unannounced appearance in Hogsmeade to register with the Ministry under the new legislation announced earlier this week in an exclusive Daily Prophet article.
Mr. Potter was in the company of numerous individuals, most of which were known associates of The Boy Who Lived, namely Ronald Weasley, Ginevra Weasley, as well as Theodore Nott, and in a shocking appearance, a reportedly defected Draco Malfoy. The entire group insisted on being added to the Ministry's new registry, citing different reasons. While the rest of the group met little or no resistance, once it became time for our Hero to sign his name, Ministry officials refused. Potter, apparently in an attempt to protest the Ministry's newest attempt at keeping the populace safe, cited his known association with werewolves, such as Remus John Lupin (co-nominee for the Order of Merlin along with the Boy Hero as well as recently pardoned, Severus Snape), as qualifying him for the registry under Ministry guidelines. While looking worse for wear, the bruised Champion showed a completely functional resolve in his refusal to leave until his name was allowed to be added. In time, and after much debate and rousing of the crowds, Ministry officials were forced to allow it.
After much delay, Minister of Magic, Rudiger Shingleton finally released this official comment, "Of course Mr. Potter is not on the registry. There was obviously some sort of misunderstanding. It was his brave actions that inspired this new wave of legislation to be instituted, to ensure that the sacrifices he has made for the welfare of all will not be required in the future. We owe him a debt of gratitude and as such, his name has been removed from the list."
Harry Potter's reaction to this removal has yet to be seen. However, being that this reporter bore witness to the heated exchange at the registry desk Sunday night, it can safely be said our Champion may not be pleased with the correction.
