Ministry Announces Registration Laws Pass
Ministry Approves New Legislation - Restrictions to Take Affect Monday
Following in the wake of the spectacular defeat of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named on Tuesday by The Boy Who Lived, Ministry officials announced the first step in ensuring society is kept safe from further such deviants gaining power. In a decisive move late Wednesday night, Ministry officials announced a new registration act, then still under debate, which will allow them to monitor those sectors most likely to breed insurgence, giving valuable warning before a new Dark Lord could arise.
This new legislature has now been approved with slight changes to those citizens required to register. After much consideration, officials announced that registration shall be limited to those who have at any time been associated with He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named and his followers, the Death Eaters. This will include current and previously convicted Death Eaters, werewolves, their immediate families, and any who are found to be aiding said individuals in the future.
Registered members of society will be required to inform the Ministry of the current locations of any residence or place of employment, as well as changes to these locations in a timely fashion. Advanced notice of at least two weeks shall be required for any travelling the individual wishes to make for pleasure or business and will require Ministry approval. Registered individuals shall also be required to present themselves at Ministry Offices regularly for wand examinations and to report on their activities.
Mandatory curfews shall be enforced for all registered individuals, restricting them to their place of residence during the hours between sunset and sunrise. Ministry officials shall be given all rights and access for monitoring the residences of said individuals, making it illegal for those registered to maintain concealment and similar charms upon their residence which would hinder the Ministry in this goal. Registered individuals shall further be restricted to employment which would meet the requirements of this curfew and denied entry into positions closely associated with the Ministry or other governing institutions.
Voluntary registration began at Ministry Offices in London, Nottingham, and Hogsmeade Thursday morning. Those persons fitting the description above and who have not yet done so should present themselves for registration at these locations between the hours of 7am and 7pm through Sunday, March the Fifth. Individuals who have not voluntarily registered themselves by 7pm Sunday evening, or who are unable to appear in person for whatever reason shall be visited by a member of the Ministry beginning on Monday to complete mandatory registration. Curfews and other restrictions shall take affect at sunset on Monday evening.
For any questions or concerns, or to report an individual for violation of this registration, please contact ministry Officials at the main offices in London.
Remember, only through your vigilence can we keep our world safe from renewed violence.
