Getting utterly lost in one's work was nothing new to Percy. Losing track of the time, the day, the month - he had yet to figure out how one could easily fail to note the date when one wrote it on hundreds of documents every day. And failing to make sufficient effort to keep in touch with one's family - well, Percy tried to keep in touch with Mum regularly, but reasoned that his siblings were happier when they heard less from him.
Ginny's dogged insistence on hearing about his life was surprising. He could distinctly remember a time when his siblings would have paid good Galleons for him to stop talking about himself.
At the time, he'd thought it was the only way to force them to see that he was interesting, that he was just as impressive as Bill and Charlie were. It had taken a very long time for him to accept that it wasn't working. If only I'd realized then that all it took to get them interested was to shut up about it.There were plenty of things he wished he'd realized years ago

Ginny smiled and moved out the door, stepping onto the walk with a squint up into the sun. It was a nice day, which was rare enough. Rarer still that she got out to see it.
She turned from the sky to her brother, her smile widening. "Of course you're not late, Percy. I don't think you're capable of it." She moved to meet him, and rather than have a moment of two of awkwardness wondering how familiar she should be, she simply threw her arms arond him and dragged him down into a hug.
"I've missed you, you know. You can't let me go so long without talking to you." She let him escape and grabbed his arm. "Now come on, into the woods." She started them moving towards the trees.
