He'd gone home with the intention to sleep. Relax tired muscles, work out some of the aggression in rest. But how could one sleep when they'd seen what he'd seen? How could he close his eyes when all he could hear were her screams? So he'd stayed awake, tried to rest and when he pulled himself from between the sheets he looked as good as he felt. But it's amazing what a hot shower and a shave can do. Seeing Charlie had been the best thing he'd experienced in a while but regardless on all the catching up they needed to do, Bill wouldn't leave a friend hanging

Tonks visibly perked up when she finally saw Bill enter the pub. Returning his smile--whether it was genuine or not--with one of her own, she leaned a little closer to him, happy to finally see him in a capacity other than having anything 'officially' to do with Mandy.

"I think that could be arranged," she said with a smirk. "But you've got two things wrong there, love; one, I'm not a nice girl, and two, you're not a cad."

She shook her head, smiling when he tugged on her hair. Affectionately, she hoped, but maybe not; she was still worried about his reaction to the way she'd been acting for the past several days. But that, she thought, hadn't been directed at him, or being of him, or even because of Mandy or the situation they were in. That was solely Snape and Lupin's doing. Still wholly convinced that so many of their actions in the past few days had been flat-out selfish, she couldn't quite shake the bitterness, especially considering she thought that the whole thing had been completely avoidable, had they just reported Mandy

"If you're not a nice-girl, darlin' then I'm most certainly a cad." The gesture most certainly was affectionate, but that didn't mean he wasn't at least mildly irritated with her. Because that was certainly the case. His views on her had changed, maybe he'd never thought she'd want to hurt someone he called ally, or at least he'd never be put in the position to observe. Of course he could understand her issues with Snape, but too far was too far and she'd crossed the line a few times over

"If you insist," Tonks said with a small smile. He was in better spirits than she'd expected. "I am sorry for how things happened. It shouldn't have even been an issue at all, not that day. Not when there were more important things to concentrate on. I'm sorry."

She snorted. "Unlikely. Once you're fucked, you can't undo it. It's like restoring your virginity. Great in theory, but...yeah, once you're fucked, you're fucked."

Taking the drink, she raised her glass to him with a challenging smile. "You try to keep up, love." She downed her second glass without hesitation, then set it down for more.

"Ah, brilliant," she said in regards to Charlie. "We're getting ice cream tomorrow, you know." She rolled her eyes jokingly. "He disappears for months at a time and comes back acting as if we can get ice cream anytime he wants. I don't think I've ever felt so taken advantage of in my life." She sniffed.
