Harry had been standing at the bar, unable to get back to Ginny. He saw her over with Hermione at first, having a chat and giggling, and then they were approached by Snape, who led Hermione off. Ginny was then led off by Remus, and Harry watched with his drink. He was waiting for the moment when he would get to dance with Ginny. He had been hoping for the first dance, but that hadn't happened. He wasn't really aware of it, but he was getting a bit jealous. She was dancing with everyone but him. He supposed his drink would just have to do for right now.

The music was good; he hadn't heard the Weird Sisters for awhile. It would be better if I were dancing with Ginny, he thought, a hint of jealousy creeping into his thoughts.

She reached out a hand and gestured to the dance floor with her head. "Dance with me?", she asked. "I've missed you all evening. Where have you been?"

As much of a fuss she had made, she really wanted him to have a chance to visit all his other friends that he didn't see every day.

And then he said he wanted to dance, and she understood. She realize he wanted to stay by her side. And she felt terribly guilty about touring the dance floor with anyone but him ( ... )
