The best word to describe the first part of Luna's outing with Harry was "fast." She hadn't been waiting very long in Diagon Alley when all of a sudden Harry appeared and whisked them away to some little street she'd never seen before, and then they got into a car and were whisked away again. Luna's father wasn't fond of this mode of transportation, and in Luna's recollection she'd only been in a car once before. The experience was rather thrilling for her, in a dizzying sort of way. All in all, this was bound to be a very wonderful distraction for her. She was feeling a little more herself nowadays, yet still distinctly not. Complacency was probably the best description; she'd endured this dreary state of being for so long, she simply got used to it

Harry's smile faded into a look of absolute confusion. Obviously it had been too long since his last outing with Luna. He'd grown unaccustomed to her unusual take on things, not that he didn't find the swing of it rather quickly. It was just that initial moment of...'Wait...What?' that threw him off. He stopped en route to the counter and pondered for a moment - about bowls...and what they had to do with this place.
"Bowls?" Everything kind of clicked after that...as if saying the word made her logic clear. Harry smiled broadly and shook his head. "Not those kind of bowls. We're not here for a bowl, but to bowl

Needing to replenish her stock of Quick Quotes Quills, Rita had ventured out into Diagon Alley - not to mention, she always made an extra effort to make herself seen after publishing an article just to get reactions first hand...and sign a few autographs if the situation arose (not that she'd make it or anything). Seeing as how she'd recently penned the article on the Carnival, she imagined there was still a bit of a buzz floating even a week or so after. No harm in getting her face out there for the adoring fans

Luna stood back and watched Harry's energetic pantomime with interest, but little comprehending. So, she looked over at the aforementioned lanes and matched the Harry's demonstration with the practical application. It looked easy enough (and Luna was beginning to wonder why it was fun), though she became quite absorbed when some pins disappeared from a lane and were then replaced by a new set. But where did the first ones go? She was waiting to find out when Harry took her hand and pulled her toward a counter. They had to rent shoes? Oh, now she didn't know what to think.
"Do all Muggle games require new shoes?" she queried, following him serenely.
