Wow.

Two ambulancemen have been arrested by police after they were heard allegedly discussing whether they should bother to resuscitate a disabled man who had collapsed at home and subsequently died.Barry Baker, 59, who lived alone, had dialled 999 saying that he thought he was having a heart attack. They should be up on manslaughter charges, on grounds of negligence. And sent to prison for a LONG time.

Their sort of behaviour is utterly inhuman.

I can sort of understand the logic if we were in a subsistence society, struggling againbst the elements, having to travel long distances every day just to get the basic means to survive - but this is an advanced, developed nation where we can afford to support everyone because of their basic dignity as entities capable of emotion, thought, understanding and compassion.

The worst thing for me is that this is (certainly in USAian terms!) a local story for me.
