Man shot for wearing Obama T-shirt
Hat tip to Nezua, here. Admittedly, the article comes from the UK's Daily Mail, a notoriously tabloidy/salacious source. Still, it's distressing, and not the sort of thing one can spin, so I'm not being leery of them as I usually would.

It probably has more to do with all-too-typical hate crimes from violent racist skinheads than it has to do with Democrat/Republican polarization in the US.

And either way, I'd imagine Obama is especially threatening to racist whites because even if they're not USians, Obama is still a black man who may (from all signs I can tell, will) soon become an extremely powerful and visible figure in the world. I'd imagine that that's especially provoking to a violent skinhead, even if he would probably have done similar things anyway.
