Glad to hear things are going well for you. I didn't have to take the GRE so don't have advice about that, but when applying for grad school I found that it was really important to talk to the faculty members at the school ahead of time to find one that will agree to supervise you. It seems that as long as you meet the minimum requirements, if there is a faculty member that agrees to take you on, you are accepted. So email faculty members that share your interests and explain what you are interested in, ideas for a thesis, your interest in their work etc. If you are going to be in Georgia any time, schedule a meeting. If they like you, then you will be ahead of other applicants who may have better grades/scores, but don't have anyone who has yet agreed to supervise.
Good luck!
