Workaround for the grey comment button!

Ever since the new default comment scheme came out last December, there have been scores of people complaining that they've been unable to comment because the button would remain greyed-out and unclickable. Unfortunately, there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who is affected by this bug so it's been especially hard to fix ( Read more... )

This is awesome, thank you! Of course, LJ's issues mean I can still only use my default icon to say so, but this adds loads of functionality!

Are you using any other userscripts for LJ? There's at least one known case of a script written for an older version of the default comment page causing problems with the userpic selector.

Just commenting to add to the list of userscripts that were getting in the way of the new comment page (just figured this out today, and have since removed it): The Livejournal Location of Anonymous Commenter script. Found by total trial and error. I disabled all the LJ ones, then enabled them one at a time to see which ones were actually stopping the page from functioning properly.

Thanks for pointing here to this post. :) However, I have no clue how to install a script, and this ancient FF -- well, I have no idea how to create a new and empty bookmark. I can save a page as a bookmark but that's all I know to do. I'm not a software guru any more.

Btw, I was told by LJ support to update the FF from 9 to 12, but that doesn't sound like it would help.

well i am here because i wanted to say thank you
i managed to verify my site with google webmaster tool
it was challenging to understand wha i needed to paste into my own page, coming from non computer background.

anyways, i just noticed that you have been working here for 10 years going to 11. must be fun for you!
i am still not sure if my request to google works but at least i got my site verified!
