I dunno, I had a friend at one point dump me with a load of the classics and tell me to read 'em all. Couldn't get into them. The Heinlein he lent me just struck me as somewhere between oedipal and masterbatory with his main character. Gave me the icks. (Okay, and a bit of a feminist snit fit at times too ;) ) Though I'll totally confess your description is a great deal more classy.

Then again, I also found Dune boring... *cowers* Please don't stone me!
