OMG YOU GUYS

I woke up this morning still raving about that soup from yesterday. Seriously, it was quick, easy and SOOOO delicious, I can't recommend it highly enough (I did in fact just go leave her a long, fawning comment on her Foodnetwork page, though. At least I managed to keep it clean, which is a feat, considering Mr. gin and I are both in lust with her ( Read more... )

I think I'll make the soup today or tomorrow - even if I can't get Bill to eat it (he's surprisingly picky for a man who claims to like everything), Andrew and I will. Also, I have leftover cilantro and must use it.

Well like I was saying, I'm the Queen of Picky Eaters and I loathe squash of any sort (with the exception of pumpkin) so I was pretty apprehensive, but MY GOD. SO GOOD. It does have a bit of spice to it though; don't know if the little one likes that or not, but be warned. :)

It's not the squash that will turn Bill off, it's the coconut. I'm thinking I just won't tell him; he's got a headcold like the rest of us, it's likely he won't notice!

Spice? HA. Andrew licks the top of the Cajun seasoning jar. I'm not worried about spice. :)

This recipe has made me SERIOUSLY hungry...and I don't cook. Can I just come over to your house for dinner? *smiles hopefully and pretends to have some shame*

Wow, yum, that sounds good! Who is this Aarti who has such awesome recipes?

Aarti Sequeira. She won the last bout of Next Footnetwork Star and has a show on the Foodnetwork now, Aarti Party; does like American-type dishes, but with an Indian flair. Everything she makes sound SO GOOD, and the couple recipes of hers I've made so far have come out just awesome. And she's not hard on the eyes, either! ;)

Edited to add a link to her actual bio instead of whatever page of her recipes I'd previously been on. :)

Thanks! I'll have to keep her site in mind for when I actually have the money to experiment with cooking again!
