I quite like this - we see lots of things about what happened after this ep, but not so much in the waiting. The opening is great, from the image of the broken mirror and the suddenly closed time window, to (of course) the Muppet sheets. :-) I love, too, that not only is the Emergency Programme sentient, but that it's been programmed to let Rose override it, with a kiss thrown in for good measure. Nice!

Sort of the opposite of the Astrid-kiss there. If we had a good normal image to draw on from that time period of a kiss, I could probably Photoshop Ten to look like a hologram.

And when, weeks later, he runs diagnostics on the TARDIS systems and wonders aloud how and when one of the Emergency Programmes was engaged and overridden, her smile is knowing, mysterious, and very, very patient.

Yep, definitely meant to evoke VotD a bit there. I'd love to see if you can 'shop that! With Rose, of course, not Astrid. ;)

Exactly. The Doctor is, quite frequently, a complete asshat. Hence why Rose is a saint, with the patience and all. :)

I liked that. Especially the part with the hologram kissing Rose. And Rose's determination to wait.

Yeah - I hate this episode enough that there were parts of the fic I thought I should double-check against it, but I couldn't bring myself to even skim through it.

Glad you liked the fic, though!
