I like how you've written Percy's shock - his assumption that Fred was perfectly fine, just unconscious, his terror, and then a sort of automatic reaction to just keep moving, keep fighting, and once it was over, sit and eat. But I have a feeling he's going to crash when he has time to process it. :(

Just one thing - I would have liked to have seen more of a reaction from the crowd when they announced Harry's "death." It's in DH of course, but we only really hear what the characters say.

Also, I loved Pomfrey's plea with the sonorous charm. You know, I never really thought about what it might have been like from her perspective... poor thing.

Thank you. And you are right about what happens next . . .

You've given me good ideas for a couple of outtakes--such as the crowd's reactions and thought on Harry's death. That's the problem with writing from one person's pov--you only get one person's perspective and thoughts. That might be interesting to explore the reactions of a group. *thinks*

I really may write a one-shot about Pomfrey's reactions and goings-on in the hospital wing, especially since Audrey's friend Sara is there. I had thought about doing a Sara pov outtake, but Pomfrey might be easier . . .

Thank you for reading and commenting! :)

Oh, the final battle always gets to me - all of it. I'll bet it was hard to write - especially Percy's reaction to Fred's death. You did a great job with it.

I did have a hard time with it. I cry every time I read or write about Fred's death. And trying to write battle scenes was harder than I expected. I think I was stuck fiddling with this one chapter for around 8 months or so, then discovered when listening to the audio book that a Death Eater I had killed off survived, so I had to fix that bit . . .

Thank you! I'm glad you think it worked. :)
