Title: From Harry, With Love Rating: G Words: 704 Summary: Harry didn't forget. Author Note: This little fic is dedicated to the loving memory of my cat, Sammy. Rest in peace, sweetheart.
When I read book 7 the first time, I got to the part where Hedwig died and slammed the book shut. How could she kill the poor owl. The owl should've been let out to fly to the Burrow ahead of time. I was truly angry at JKR for that.
I am very sorry about the loss of Sammy. Just know, he's now waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge (and if you aren't familiar with that, let me know and I will either send it to you or post it here).
Absolutely. Why the hell did she have to put hedwig in a cage. She can fly for merlin's sake. I actually had to re-read that part several times to comprehend what she'd done.
Oh. Wow. I feel like I need to say something about this, but I'm at a loss for words. It's so very poignant and so true for anyone who's ever lost a pet. You captured the emotions perfectly, I think.

Harry never did get the chance to grieve over hedwig. He just dropped the cage and that was it.
