Angel traced the scar on Cordy's hip that she had gotten in Sunnydale when she had been inpaled with a rebar. He was one of the few people who even knew it was there, but she was still self-conscious about it.
"Angel?" Cordy asked as she woke.
"Hmm?"
"What are you doing?"
"Thinking."
"About what?" she asked softly.
"You. You're beautiful."
Cordy smiled that smile she got when something he'd said touched something inside of her. "I love you," she told him tenderly.
"I love you, too, Cordy," he whispered, kissing her. He pulled her into his arms, feeling content.
